How SantaCam works

What SantaCam is
A place for kids to tell Santa what they want, and for the family to see the list. Parents run it, relatives help, and nobody buys the same gift twice.
Kid mode
Open your kid's page, tap “Hand to” with their name, then give them the phone. Your kid can snap a photo of what they want, or just tell Santa. Santa answers back.
Kid mode shows only your kid's own wishes. They can't see who is buying what, or any prices or notes. To leave kid mode, a grown-up types the parent PIN. You can change the PIN: tap “Family settings” under your family on the home screen, then “Parent PIN”. Forgot the PIN? Tap “Forgot PIN?” and we'll email you a code.
Inviting family
On the home screen tap “Invite family”, then “Share family link” to send grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends a link. They sign in with their email and can see the lists right away. For a partner who runs things like you, use “Add a parent” (a co-parent who runs everything with you).
Reserving gifts
On a kid's wish list, tap “Reserve” on the gift you plan to give. Everyone else in the family sees it's taken. Changed your mind? Tap “Unreserve”.
After you buy it, tap “Mark bought”. You can also add a note, like a size or where you ordered it. Every parent and relative in the family can see and edit it, along with reservations and bought marks. Your kids never see any of it.
Your shopping list
Everything you've reserved is gathered in one place, by family and kid, so you can see what's left to buy. Tap “My shopping list” on the home screen.
A few extras
On your kid's page, tap “Top wish” on a wish so relatives know what matters most. Set a gift budget under “Manage” at the bottom of that page.
Also on that page: “Print Santa letter” makes a page to mail, and “Santa's reply” writes your kid a note back.
For fun, “Santa selfie” near the bottom of the home screen puts a Santa hat on your photo.
Santa Pass
Free to try: 1 kid and 10 wishes per Christmas. The Santa Pass is $6.99, once per family per season, and adds more kids and unlimited wishes.
Nothing you already made is ever hidden or deleted, even without a pass.
